Child hood Sweets

Do you remember when you was a child and you had now worries about the future, the only concern was getting your pocket money in-order to buy some sweets from the local sweets shop.

My favourite memory is in the local sweet shop buying sweets as a 10p mix up, even only life was this simple still. Not worrying about mortgage payments and recession.

If only we go back in time to get that feeling back. Going into the local sweet shop to buy flying saucers or something similar. Walking home eating away without worrying about putting on any weight, life was so good as a child.

I sound like a depressive adult and i am only 33 years old. But i am not really a depressive adult I am just an adult that loves sweets and keeps thinking about them.

I now have 2 children and they love sweets and I love buying them. Sweets can make any situation seem ok. When my little boy falls over I quickly get sweets to stop him crying. If he is upset for some reason, the mention of sweets and he is a smiley little boy.

As a adult sweets seem different, we can remember all the retro sweets full of artificial colours and so on, when things didnt need to be labelled and sweets can be sweets made from anything.

Only the day I went to my parents house and my father had a Cadburys Old Jamica chocolate bar in the fridge. I quickly tasted a piece and loved it. The old traditional chocolate was the best. Soon we were laughing and joking about sweets from the past the good old fashioned sweets that we all loved.

We all have our own special favourite old fashioned traditional retro sweet that has a specific memory that we all cherish. My favourite chocolate from the past is curly wurly. The cadburys curly wurly was released in 1971 and was a chocolate coated caramel long flat shaped chocolate bar. I loved bighting it and bending it to break the chocolate pieces off. I want one now just writing this.

A saying that you wont have heard for a few years is "Aquarter of", and the older generation will remember this. My mothers fathers used to own a shop in the old days and he used to have jars of old fashioned retro sweets on the shelf. The jars were crammed with the most delicious old fashion sweets that you could get at the time. I rememeber the big jars with broken pieces of sweets in the bottom and I rememeber always wanting to eat the scraps at the bottom.

Nostaglic sweets have been around now for as long as people can remember and every year the memories of the old traditional sweets seem to be fading away. The new sweets are copies of the old sweets and they are not as tasty as the old sweets.

There are a few traditional old fashion sweet shops online that you can buy from that sell the old fashioned sweets and they taste so much better.

The old fashioned traditional sweet shop sweet heaven is my favourite and online sweet shop and I order online sweets every week or so for my children, and me, the big kid.

Whilst writing this i am eating rainbow drops which are sugar coated rice. These sweets are yummy. Rainbow drops have become a cult now in the old fashioned retro sweets industry.

Now you can buy sugar free sweets, can you imagine telling you nan that you were eating sugar free sweets. It would make no sense. Sweets were all about sugar, and the sugar flavour. People in the good old days had a much sweeter tooth than today it would seem. Or is it people were not educated as much about what sugar does to your teeth. The dentist in the good old days would not have been blammed for not informing you that eating sweets can be bad for your teeth. I think that the world today is so serious and more and more people are looking at the effects of things rather than enjoying them. In the educated world we live in people worry about everything and we are warned about this and warned about that. You would not leave you front door if you took it all serious. Global warming and the UK climate getting warmer was all people went on about a few years back and now in 2009 / 2010 we have snow and freezing conditions.

I live everyday one day at a time and enjoy each day for what i did on that day. I do not smoke so my fix is sweets. I love eating sweets when i am happy, eating sweets when I am sad and eating sweets because the day ends in a Y.

Old fashioned retro sweets can be brought in a cube called a retro cube and they contain sweets such as Strawberry Fizz Wiz, Cherry Fizz Wiz, Blackjacks, Fruit Salads, Refresher Chews, Candy Necklaces, Flying Saucers, Parma Violets, Shrimps, Double Lollies, Mini Love Heart Rolls, Double Lollies Dip and Mojos.

If you remember Strawberry Fizz Wiz then you will remmeber the feeling of the Fizz Wiz in your mouth and the Cherry Fizz Wiz always make me smile. The good old fashioned retro sweets such as Blackjacks are a favourite, and you cannot hide away from them once you eaten one. They are hard to chew and always leave you with a black tongue. Remember Fruit Salads the same size and shape as black jacks but really fruity, I have no idea whats in the them but i love it.

Refresher Chews are a good favourite infact all the refresher range i love. Candy Necklaces are girly thing that you cant help to enjoy. As for Flying Saucers that special feeling of letting them melt on your tongue and then the pop, I want one now.

Parma Violets those purple circular sweets in a wrapper normally are lovely if you like them. They are an individual taste that you love or hate. The candy Shrimps are excellent for a sweet tasting nibble. My son loves Double Lollies and cant get enough of them. My wife loves mojos and she would eat the entire bag of them given the chance.

Either way you must have a favourite sweet that you love and you want to eat now whilst you are reading this. The old fashioned retro traditional sweets are here to stay. Old fashion sweets will make us happy, whether you are a school kid or sweet toothed adult, retro sweets have a place in our hearts.

One of the growing types of sweets now in the UK is Kari Sweets. Kari Sweets are growing and growing and on the internet the Kari sweets term is searched term that i growing.
